The general honour of our family  has been restored. As individuals, though, something more is needed.

Jesus said,

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.
— Bible, Gospel of Matthew, chapter 10 verses 32-33

When a person follows Jesus, Jesus will relay that to God. And God listens to Jesus because Jesus honored God completely with his life.

In fact, whoever believes that the only way to get honor before God is to follow Jesus, God will welcome back into his community, just like he did with Jesus.

Most people refuse to follow Jesus. Rather than receive the honor he shares with us, they try to earn their own honor. Everything they do just brings more shame on them because they think their small acts will bring God honour. These people will always be covered in their own shame and when they die they will be cast out with the other shameful things for eternity

However, because Jesus wants to share his honor and glory (John 17:22), every person who joins him in the community of God can share in the inheritance that Jesus earned by honoring and obeying God even to the point of death.

That inheritance includes the honor of living with God forever after we die.

For everyone who follows Isa and is associated with Him, God promises to bring them back into His community. In fact, Isa loves us so much He wants to share everything he earned with us, so we have an equal share in everything Isa earned, including eternal life with God in Paradise.

Our family honor has been restored by Jesus, a perfect representative of mankind. Our personal honor can be restored when we follow Jesus with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength.
