In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth
— The Bible, the book of Genesis, Chapter 1 Verse 1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
— The Bible, the book of John, Chapter 1 verse 1

The Word of God is also known as the Light of God (John 1:1-9). He is Jesus and it is He who created the heavens and the earth (Col 1:16). The first day of creation, He created light.

He created everything in six days. On the fourth day He created the heavens, that is, all the stars in the sky, to declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1).

On the sixth day He created mankind to demonstrate His glory (Isaiah 43:7).

However, the Most High God decided to share this glory with the mankind. He honored the first people, Adam and Eve, by giving them a name, a home, authority to rule over the rest of creation and making them a mazhar, or image of God (Genesis 1:26-27) They lived with God with great honour.

So it was that God finished creating on the sixth day, calling everything 'very good'.

Very good? Was God really calling this world very good ... ?
