On Friday a huge landslide devastated a village in the remote north-eastern corner of Afghanistan. The BBC are reporting over 2500 buried alive and more than 4000 displaced.

Rescuers abandoned their efforts late on Saturday as they ruled out any hope of survival under metres of mud.

Please pray for the people of the village of Ab Barik. In this area of Badakhshan, many, if not all will be Ismailis.

Regardless, pray for the survivors who face another night out in the open in the mountains, with little water, food or shelter.

Pray for a fast and effective relief effort, for swift and adequate action from the Afghan government, for generous outside help, for no more landslides in the area and that God's peace would reign.
